Situated on the lower mid north coast of New South Wales Australia, the Barrington Coast is an easy 2 hour drive north of Sydney. You can also get here by train, plane and coach. We look forward to welcoming you to our diverse and beautiful destination.

Cars and trains, buses and coaches, taxis and planes plus boats and bikes. You’ll need at least one of these to take the path less travelled in the Barrington Coast.

By Car

The Pacific Highways runs through the Barrington Coast linking Sydney to Brisbane. The journey by car is about 2 hours drive from Sydney's M1 Motorway entrance to our southern gateway at Tea Gardens. It's even less from the Central Coast and Newcastle. Add another hour and you'll find yourself in Pacific Palms, Forster, Tuncurry or Gloucester. Taree is about one hour south of Port Macquarie and if you're coming from Tamworth or Armidale down Thunderbolts Way it's less than 3 hours drive to our western gateway at Gloucester.

By Train

The North Coast Railway runs through the Barrington Coast linking Sydney to Brisbane. XPT trains to Brisbane, Grafton and Casino stop daily in both directions at Gloucester, Wingham and Taree.

By Plane

Three airports provide air links for visitors to the Barrington Coast. Taree airport services Regional Express (REX) with flights from Sydney and Grafton. Newcastle airport services Jetstar, Qantaslink, Virgin Australia, Regional Express (REX) and Fly Pelican with flights across Australia and seasonally to Auckland. Port Macquarie airport services Qantaslink and Alliance Airlines with flights across Australia.

By Coach

Busways provides daily services from Newcastle to the Barrington Coast towns of Hawks Nest, Tea Gardens, Pacific Palms, Forster and Taree. Trainlink coaches from Broadmeadow also service Gloucester, Wingham and Taree.
