Great Lakes

The Great Lakes is the perfect coastal getaway. It is renowned for the superb coastal lakes, towering forests, aquamarine coastline and beaches of white and gold stretching from Tea Gardens to Tuncurry.

Manning Valley

From seashore to mountain top, discover the beauty of the lush Manning Valley: historic towns, sanctuaries for abundant wildlife, deserted beaches and coastal wetlands, waterfalls and lookouts across our boundless splendour.

Gloucester

Gloucester is the closest town to Barrington Tops for world heritage experiences: feel the ancient forests of Gondwana, paddle like an explorer, ride the riverside trails of Captain Thunderbolt, camp at high altitude Polblue or make a snow man.

Barrington Tops

Barrington Tops is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. This wilderness plateau is a bushwalking jewel with trails through forests of moss-covered Antarctic beech, enchanting waterfalls and inspiring lookouts.

MidCoast Council was formed by the NSW Government proclamation on 12 May 2016 through the merger of the former Great Lakes, Greater Taree and Gloucester Shire Councils. This also included the merger of the existing tourism bodies of Great Lakes, Manning Valley and Gloucester... now Destination Barrington Coast.
