Directions to Wootton & Bulahdelah

How to get to Wootton & Bulahdelah by car, train, coach or plane.

By car

Getting to the towns of Bulahdelah and Wootton is easy, follow the signs and you can’t miss them.

1. Pacific Highway

From the Hexham Bridge over the Hunter River the journey north to Bulahdelah via the Pacific Highway is 80 km and takes about 50 minutes. If coming from the north, the journey from the Taree exit ramp on the Pacific Highway is 69 km and takes about 45 minutes.

2. Wootton Way

For Wootton from the Hexham Bridge over the Hunter River, the journey north via the Pacific Highway is 99 km and takes about one hour using the Wootton Way exit just north of Bulahdelah. If coming from the north, the journey from the Taree exit ramp on the Pacific Highway is 50 km and takes about 30 minutes.

3. Waukivory Road and Markwell Road

Coming from Gloucester, access to Bulahdelah is via a scenic route through the hidden valley of Waukivory. Waukivory Road becomes Upper Myall Road at Warranulla which in turn becomes Markwell Road taking you into Bulahdelah. This route is 60 km and takes about 50 minutes. NB. A large portion is gravel road.

4. Booral Road

Coming from the village of Booral on the Bucketts Way, access to Bulahdelah is via a scenic route through rural landscapes around Girvan and high forests of the upper Myall Lakes National Park. This route is 30 km and takes about 25 minutes. NB. A portion is winding, narrow gravel road.


By train

The nearest railway stations are Taree and Broadmeadow which are on the main northern rail line from Sydney to Brisbane. There are several XPT trains per day in both directions.

The car journey south to Wootton from Taree railway station is 55 km and takes about 40 minutes. The car journey south to Bulahdelah from Taree railway station is 74 km and takes about 50 minutes.

The car journey north to Bulahdelah from Broadmeadow railway station is 94 km and takes about one hour 5 minutes. The car journey north to Wootton from Broadmeadow railway station is 115 km and takes about one hour 20 minutes.
