How to get to Taree & Wingham by car, train, coach or plane.

By car

1. Pacific Highway

Taree has been bypassed with the improved section of the Pacific Highway so access is now via exit ramps at Purfleet and Cundletown. Depending on the traffic, the 4 km trip into the Taree CBD from Purfleet can take less than 5 minutes. From Cundletown ramp it’s 8 km and 15 minutes.

Wingham is an extra 12 km from Taree CBD, taking about 15 minutes.

2. Bucketts Way

Wingham can be accessed from the Bucketts Way via Gloucester Road which joins it at Burrell Creek, it’s 15 km and takes about 15 minutes. Gloucester Road takes you through the pretty rural landscapes of the Manning valley with a highlight being the Killawarra Bridge across the Manning River.

Southern access to Taree is also possible via the Bucketts Way which ends at Manning River Drive at Purfleet, on the southern bank of the Manning River.

The Bucketts Way is named after the Bucketts Mountains at Gloucester, also known by their aboriginal name: the Buccan Buccans.

3. Comboyne Road

Access to Wingham from the northern Manning River Valley is via Comboyne Road which takes you over the ridge into the upper Hastings River valley. It becomes Wingham Road at the top of the mountain. Wingham to Comboyne is 40 km and takes about 35 minutes.
