The River walking track provides a family friendly trail through the dense forest and wildlife rich Gloucester Tops.

From the carpark opposite the Antarctic Beech Track follow this 2.5 km loop track for an easy one hour walk along the upper plateau sections of the Gloucester River before it plunges over the escarpment. In spring enjoy the wonderful display of wildflowers as the valley explodes with colours from flowers such as billy buttons, triggerplants, bluebells and rice flowers. Pack a lunch and sit at the Gloucester Tops picnic area while you take in the picturesque surrounds.

Along the trail keep an eye out for wombats, red-necked wallabies and kangaroos as you enjoy the sounds of the birds in the canopy above.

For a longer loop add in Gloucester Falls walking track and Antarctic Beech walking track to make the 8 km Gloucester Tops circuit.
