Area is very well maintained. Biggest tip: bring your mosquito repellent! Really sad to see the water so low in this drought. Great wildlife though and careful consideration of picnic areas etc. Approx. 3km walking loop on flat even ground, perfect for wheelchair access. Ample car parking available and bathrooms available on site, were large and clean.

Really enjoyed the Cattai Wetlands. Great walk (not strenuous) - seating along the way. Informative both Nature, Culture and directions. Plenty parking, 2 toilets, picnic tables. NB Take Insect Repellant & a picnic.

We liked the walks, it was fairly dry in the wetlands, but birds are there somewhere as we could hear them but not see them especially where water had recessed so much!

A good spot to stop off for a short 2 km walk and stretch the legs. There is a dirt road immediately off the turn off from the Pacific Highway. Lots o beautiful water lilies and many birds. Don't forget the aerogard, the mosquitoes are voracious
