Just off the Pacific Highway at Spring Hill Road lives Cattai Wetlands, a beautiful coastal wetland and hidden gem of the Barrington Coast.
Cattai Wetlands provides a sanctuary for over 180 species of birds, kangaroos, wallabies and regular spotted goannas. Make your way along one of the many walking tracks, go bird watching, take a picnic or just relax and enjoy the scenery.
Visitor facilities include toilets, car parking, boardwalks, viewing platforms and interpretive signage.
There is no camping available and dogs are not permitted due to proximity of wildlife.
Opening hours
The Cattai Wetlands are open to the public:
- Monday to Friday 8am to 3pm
- Saturday and Sunday 7am to 5pm.
- Guided group tours are available by appointment, contact MidCoast Council (02)7955 7777 to make a booking.
- No dogs are allowed in the wetlands.
