Dining out at the best cafes and bistros.
Known for its peaceful coastal lakeshore that looks (sometimes) like the Whitsundays, Smiths Lake offers a few hidden gems for eating out. Tempt your tastebuds here the next time you dine out in Smiths Lake.
Frothy Coffee Boatshed
The views across Smiths Lake are unbeatable, so take a breakfast bacon and egg roll out onto the sandy shores, or sit at a table on the deck for waffles with strawberries, ice cream and maple syrup.
For lunch try the haloumi salad or panko prawns with chips, or maybe the tandoori burger will tick the box.
Pacific Palms Bowling Club, Smiths Lake
The locals go to where the locals know, and that’s here for all their pub favourites: burgers, pizzas, pasta, grilled fish, schnitzels and roasts.
Why not surprise them and order vegetarian: arancini with chipotle mayo, eggplant Parmigiana or Thai salad with salt & pepper tofu?
The Good Food Store
Coffee and café favourites for breakfast and lunch, showcasing the talents of Nadine The Cake Queen with baked goodies sweet and savoury.
Enjoy meals on buns or meals in bowls. Seek out the mini quiches featuring locally produced buffalo milk feta from Burruduc Buffalo Dairy followed by vegan lime blueberry cake with elderberry glaze.
Our hot tip.... eat some now, buy some for later: try the caramel tart, spiced macadamia chocolate mousse cups or vegan gluten free pear almond streusel.
Not technically a place to dine out, but you shouldn't miss Burraduc Buffalo Dairy at Bungwahl. It's a popular stop on the seasonal Great Lakes Food Trail.
Burraduc is famous for their multi award-winning Burraduc buffalo mozzarella, dolcenina fresh curd, buffalo pot set yoghurt, buffalo feta and buffalo ricotta.
