Nature-based day trip tours for NDIS clients: escaping is for everyone!
Our aim is to make the Barrington Coast available to as many NDIS clients as possible. Spending time outside is one of the easiest ways to improve your mental health and well-being.
After the Covid years spent indoors, it's time to get back out into nature. And we're lucky to be living in a region with so much to offer: remote beaches, rivers and lakes, national parks and waterfalls and rainforests.
We offer a selection of nature-based day trips around the Barrington Coast, showcasing the beaches, lakes and national parks on a weekly basis. Picnic lunch or barbecue included.
Upcoming tours include:
- Black Head Beach & Reserve
- Cattai Wetlands & Coorabakh National Park
- The Green Cathedral, Grandis & Neranie Picnic Area
- Harrington & Crowdy Head National Park
Pick up and drop off available within 15km of Taree and Forster.
Groups
Day trips are small groups from two to a maximum of eight people, in a minibus. There are at least two support workers to cater to your needs. The ratio of support worker/client will increase if required. But please remember, whilst we wish to be all inclusive, these day trips do require some level of self-active participation.
One On One trips
We will also be offering 1:1 day trips in our own fully insured vehicles for clients who would prefer this option.
Short Term Accommodation (respite)
Also available is Short Term Accommodation (also known as respite), tailored to suit your needs for two or three-day short term stays in the Barrington Coast. These can be accessed under Short Term Accommodation (STA) as part of your NDIS funding. Whilst this may not be stated in your plan, you may be able to access STA if it aligns with your NDIS goals.
