Faulls Ridge boutique vineyard offers intimate wine tastings in the rolling hills overlooking beautiful Gloucester.

The vineyard is perched atop the scenic ridges above Gloucester, just like a European vineyard but nicer!

Visitors are welcome to enjoy intimate wine tastings and share plates made up of local produce. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in their beautiful garden and soak up the magnificent view as you enjoy a fine wine experience.

Our wines:

We grow three varieties of grapes at Faulls Ridge Winery: Verdelho (white), Chambourcin (red) and Shiraz (red). Pruned in winter the grapes ripen over summer and are picked in January and February every year by friends, family and anyone interested (I have interested tourists wanting to help!) Everyone who picks gets a very hearty breakfast and a free bottle of wine. Depending on the season, with these three varieties we usually make a Verdelho, Chambourcin, Shiraz and a Rose.

Our 2022 vintage:

2022 Verdelho:
This wine has tropical notes of stone fruit and citrus including lemon and grapefruit with a hint of spicy characters. The wine is medium bodied with a crisp acidity.

2022 Rose:
This wine is a rose gold colour and to say it's beautiful is an understatement! It has strawberry notes with a touch of confectionary cherry and is a light bodied wine with a crisp finish. This 2022 Rose is a perfect summer drink.

2022 Chambourcin:
This wine is a brick red colour. The red cherry aroma has earthy notes with a touch of spice and a nice integration of French oak. The palate is medium bodied with soft tannin and savoury characters with cherry and rhubarb flavours.

An absolute gem of a place. John and Debbie were great to chat to, have an obvious passion for what they do, and couldn’t be more hospitable. Their wines are phenomenal, and easily rival those with far higher price tags. Their property makes for a fantastic backdrop too, and isn’t your usual ‘big’ winery like you’d find in the Hunter. We’ve already got plans to come back soon.

A wonderful experience, the owner was lovely and provided us with lots of info about the region, the wines, the house and even let us fly our drone for some good aerial vids. A beautiful location with a magnificent view and the garden makes for a fantastic backdrop to enjoy a tasting and a cheese platter.

John and Deb welcomed us to their little vineyard where we sampled their wine selection. There was little grazing platter in between wine samples, and some great conversation and local history. We bought half a dozen bottles, mixed of Verdelho, Rose, Shiraz and Chambourcin. Highly recommended and we are considering returning for their grape picking experience in January.
