Learn this ancient craft with Jen at Coomba Park.

String making is an ancient craft that is relevant in contemporary life as it allows us to slow down & experience the satisfaction of creating something hand made. Making natural products using organic materials takes us back to basics.

This workshop is suitable for beginners, no previous experience is required & all materials are provided. You will make & take home a beautiful raffia string looped bags, using raw & naturally dyed Madagascan raffia, you will learn how to make string, and use it to make at least two different styles of looped string bags.

You will be supplied with approx 250g of raffia, printed handouts to refer to during and after the workshop, & details of where to purchase your own supplies for future projects.

You will need to bring a plate to share and a bottle of water (a selection of herbal teas will be provided).
