Congrats to Kylie and team, so well deserved!

We are committed to making gin the way gin used to be made, by a one shot distillation in a traditional copper pot still. Our beautiful still was commissioned to Peter Bailey of Hobart in Tasmania and was precariously road tripped home. Copper is essential to the distillation process as the chemical reaction results in a softer and smoother spirit.

We rest our botanicals on the finest quality neutral Australian sugar cane spirit. This spirit provides a clean blank canvas upon which I can weave my botanical magic. We keep only the very hearts of the spirit and then blend it with purified rainwater harvested from the farm.

We are 45 minutes north of Newcastle and only 30 minutes from Newcastle airport, along the scenic Bucketts Way. The Bucketts Way is an enjoyable country drive that meanders through rolling green hills and small rural communities and is the gateway to the Barrington Tops National Park.

People love the native sage in our gin, it smells like the Australian bush.
Kylie Sepos

Australian gins are unique, often containing indigenous ingredients as well as the mandatory juniper. We use native sage, lemon myrtle, anise myrtle and pepperberry, with some botanicals grown on our family farm here at Allworth.

But it's the sugarbag honey collected from native stingless bees that gives The Farmer’s Wife Autumn Dry Gin its signature flavour.

Famous for our award-winning Autumn Dry Gin

Tasting our gin, on the nose you are greeted with the distinct aroma of juniper softened by the sweet scent of pink grapefruit and a lingering hint of honey.

When sipped the distinct punchy juniper notes are first and are layered with citrus from the lemon myrtle, zesty kaffir lime and grapefruit.

This is quickly followed by a savoury warmth (not heat) to the palate from the cardamom, pepper berry and native sage.

The Angelica, orris root and liquorice provide an earthy balanced undertone but it is that gorgeous grapefruit and honey that lingers on the palate and leaves you with the feeling and colours of autumn.

I've been seeing this property being built amongst the trees and been very curious to know more. Today I rode past and saw that it was open, there's a few places to turn around if you're coming up from the highway. And I'm so glad I did! This new distillery is stunning and a welcome addition to the area! I dropped in for a coffee and toastie, spoke with the team and felt so welcome there. I was invited in to have a look around, check out the gin products, restaurant and distillery. Really impressed with how it's all looking and can't wait to come back for lunch or dinner. I can see there's more coming with a private tasting room and the open fire inside will be brilliant come those cold winters! Make a note and drop in, you'll love this place!

In the sort time it's been open (weeks) the staff and service is great and the food well its amazing! Oh let's not forget about the Gin! ️... Book a Table or Turn up and wait to be seated for a tasting session like no other. I visited the Farmers Wife Distillery last weekend for a gin tasting session with family and friends. The Distillery has an awesome atmosphere, with amazing friendly staff, fantastic gin and a vast amount of delicious food! Not to mention their own merchandise section located in the distillery which included a wide range of T-shirts, cocktail kits, hand-soaps and bath salts which incorporated botanicals that are also used in the gin.

What a lovely venue! Stopped in while driving past on our way to Gloucester. Staff were very accomodating and friendly, they even got our dog a water bowl while we sat out on the verandah. The pizzas are delicious and the Elderflower Spritz is a must try. We will definitely be back!

What a fantastic distilery! Built with high quality and style, it is warm and inviting with staff that match. Great gin (as expected) and the food was top shelf for such a destination. The grounds and buidling have been thoughfully and immacualtely designed and prepared and they plan to expand even more. A great spot to stop on the way up the coast (just 10 minutes off the freeway) or on your way to great towns like Stroud, Gloucester, etc.
