A tribute to William Shakespeare, the world’s greatest playwright and storyteller, marking the 400th anniversary of his death, hosted by David Tenant and Catherine Tate featuring Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Helen Mirren and Prince Charles, among many others.
Through a unique combination of the performing arts, this show celebrates Shakespeare’s plays and their enduring influence. The once-in-a-lifetime cast includes David Suchet, John Lithgow, Antony Sher and Simon Russell Beale as well as Alison Moyet, Gregory Porter, Rufus Wainwright, the English National Opera, Stratford-upon-Avon’s Orchestra of the Swan and the Royal Ballet.
Through a unique combination of the performing arts, this show celebrates Shakespeare’s plays and their enduring influence on music, dance, opera, musical theatre and comedy worldwide. Featuring a once-in-a-lifetime cast of acclaimed actors, musicians, dancers and even royalty, assembled and directed by the artistic director of the RSC Gregory Doran.
Alongside numerous theatrical performances, Shakespeare Live! also features Shakespeare inspired work spanning the musical genres, including hip=hop, blues, musical theatre, jazz, opera and classical numbers based on the plays.
