Located at the most picturesque rapids on the Barrington River, relive the best of your childhood camping memories!

The Steps Barrington is a camping destination of spectacular natural beauty on a gentle bend of the Barrington River at The Steps rapids.

Relive the best of your childhood camping experiences with an uncrowded campground, unspoilt river vistas and friendly wildlife.

On the river you'll find stretches of slow moving water that make perfect swimming holes for family fun or try paddling the rapids in a kayak, canoe or surf mat. On land take to the trails of our purpose-built cross country mountain bike park, there are trails suitable for all rider levels or a family riding challenge.

Nearby you’ll find Copeland Tops and Barrington Tops with rainforest walks, lookouts and waterfalls. Or you can just sit back and listen to the sounds of the Barrington River cascading its way over the famous Steps rapids while you watch the wallabies graze.

Our large grassy campzones are suitable for small groups and you’ll love our ‘luxe’ amenities block with hot showers and flushing toilets.

Please note: The Steps Barrington Campground is located at Bindera but you need to check-in first at the office of Barrington Outdoor Adventure Centre (126 ThunderboltsWay, Gloucester) before proceeding to the campground.

The Steps Barrington Campground is an authentic camping experience with year round appeal. The bushland setting of this boutique campground is easily accessed by two wheel drive vehicles and the numbers of campers allowed onsite is limited to ensure you have plenty of space and the natural environment is not stressed either. It's just a short drive from the town centre of Gloucester in the Barrington Coast hinterland.

There are several large bonfire pits plus two permanent shelters that can be hired. It’s the perfect place to book out for a corporate event or family occasion, the riverside setting will wash away your stress and revitalize your spirit.

There are no powered sites.

Please note, no domestic pets allowed due to proximity of wildlife.

The best campsite! We love this campsite and come every year. Set beside the beautiful Barrington River, open campfires that you share with other campers (a great way to meet others), new and clean shower blocks and best of all.... no mobile phone reception so you can truly switch off! Wonderful and friendly management. Very well maintained. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Always a great time. We've been here 4 times. Clean toilets and showers (hot showers). Park is clean and the water is always beautiful. My kids enjoyed the rapid all day, didn't want to come out. We're coming back again.

What a wonderful place to get away from it all!! The camping area is spacious enough with lush green grass. Amenities are clean with hot water. Camp kitchen sink is a bonus. The water is clear and rapids were fun. Enjoy your fire pit and gaze at the stars as you rest peacefully to the sound of water cascading over the rocks.

LOVED our stay at The Steps. We booked the Riverview Cottage and had a great time. The views from the cottage are amazing. The amenities were clean and comfortable. It's a short walk to the river for a swim. We loved it and cant wait to come back.

Simply one of the best campsites I've ever been to. Unbeatable position right by the river, plenty of space, you can have a fire, spotlessly clean amenities block, mountain biking and playing in the river for kids, mellow vibe, heaps of birds and wildlife, close to town if you need a coffee. What more could you want. I also did a kayaking trip which was so much fun.
