'Returning to the Mountains' at Gloucester Gallery.
Steven Jankovic is an Australian Landscape artist who creates paintings in acrylics and oils, sculptures, oil pastel drawings and photography. He studied Art at Newcastle Art School Tafe and also studied under renowned Australian Landscape Artists, Tim Allen, Rowan Mathews and Idris Murphy. Also taking his inspiration and influence from Fred Williams and Jeffrey Makin.
Jankovic’s deep connection to the Australian bush & natural environment was a natural choice to paint landscapes. This passion goes a long way back to his childhood as this captured his imagination of going to the beaches, camping, trekking across mountains, and discovering waterfalls in remote areas of the Australian bush and has continued this into his artistic practice throughout his adult life. He has always enjoyed creating in some form, but never took it seriously, until he quit his job as a motor mechanic and enrolled in Art School at Newcastle Tafe.
After Graduating Art School Jankovic has won several art prizes and Grants been a finalist in a multitude of art prizes with 8 Solo Exhibitions to date, and with artworks in private and public collections.
