Find you inner artist.
Painting from photo images is often convenient and helpful. Painting ‘from life ’might seem more difficult, but with a few foundational principles, the task can be a lot easier than you might expect.
Over two days we will finish several paintings of actual, simple objects. The works will be small: the more ‘starts' we do the better we will develop our process.
There will be a particular emphasis on tone to create a heightened sense of realism. Attention will be paid to light and shadow and its effect on colour.
Materials needed: whatever tools and paints you usually use. Be sure to include a general yellow, red and blue paints in your colours. Include several small canvases, painting panels or canvas paper: eg 15x20cm or 20x20cm (4 to 6 pieces).
This workshop is suitable for all levels of painting experience.
Cost: $160 per person for members for the two days and is a fundraiser for GLAS. Non members cost is $200. Why not join? Membership of Great Lakes Art Society Inc. is $30 expiring in June.
The workshop is limited to 12 participants as an absolute maximum so an early response is advised.
