Making string and cordage from plant fibres with Living Strong!
Join Living Strong and learn to make string and cordage from our environment. String and cordage are some of the most important resources we can carry with us into the bush and on country. We can use cordage to make temporary repairs to equipment and clothing, make traps and improvise around camp. We will walk through local bushland to look at and discuss various plants and the fibres they produce, how these different strings and cordages can be put to use and you will then learn to make your very own string.
All plant fibres will be sustainably harvested, processed and treated prior to the event and brought on the day to be turned into string and cordage.
Cost for this workshop is FREE and includes all materials.
This activity is only for youth aged 12 to 24 years.
Workshop numbers are limited to 20 participants - get in quick!
** Please note - We will be capturing footage (both photography and video) at this event, and if you do not wish to featured please let us know ahead of the day. These photos may be used across any of our communications channels such as our website, social media, and paid advertising.
