The EPIC line-up
Marshall and the Fro
Aptly named after two of music’s greatest rock/bluesmen (Jimi ‘Marshall’ Hendrix and Johnny ‘Dawson’ Winter) Marshall Dawson Okell was born on April 13th, 1979, into a Rock n Roll arena, with a guitar case for a crib.Growing up on the NSW far North Coast, Marshall’s stomping ground embraced the pumping surfing scenes of Lennox Head, Byron Bay and Ballina, where he fostered a strong connection with his local environment and the community.
Having worked his way through no less than five tour vans, an unwavering dedication to the stage and what can only be described as some time ‘off the rails’, Marshall boasts a live crowd-following that puts most working musicians to shame. He has played alongside the likes of John Butler, Ben Harper, Wolfmother, Buddy Guy, The Cat Empire, Jeff Lang, Gomez and Xavier Rudd.
GALLERI
Galleri formed as the creative outlet for a group of misfits from the Mid North Coast.
The band Started writing & rehearsing in the old art “gallery’ at Green Point, which became a live music venue through the late 2000s - early 2010s. The Venue would host touring musicians and feed punters wood fired pizza and drinks. A Diverse range of artists from the Preachers, The owls, Hat Fitz and Cara, Holly Rankin/ Jack River and many more came through the doors over the few years that The Gallery venue traded.
As the house band, it seemed fitting to settle on the name Galleri.
The ‘Galleri’ banner gave a broad umbrella under which the original songwriters could mix and blend styles and genres.
Over the years the band has developed and fine tuned its original sound, and built an underground following that have hung on for the ride.
‘Easy’ the latest recording produced and recorded by close friend Zach Miller has helped them define their sound.
KARL S WILLIAMS
Karl S. Williams – singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, visual artist and poet – an artist that you never saw coming. A genre defying and multifaceted musician for whom music is an urgent calling and the solution is, to love more. What makes Karl truly remarkable, is that he is unafraid - he wears his heart on his sleeve, he speaks universal truths and he crosses boundaries. This is blues, roots, folk and Americana, if you will… but not as you know it.
Karl’s music is steeped in the swamp water of the cane country of Northern NSW, the landscape of his childhood. His songs are a distillation of life, love and the human condition. Timeless and deeply rooted in tradition, yet ever conversant with the present. As a performer, he is at once beautifully vulnerable and then transcendent.
GOOD CORN LIQUOR
Good Corn Liquor are a country, bluegrass & blues band hailing from Gunnedah NSW. Originally forming in early 2011 from childhood friendships, Good Corn Liquor is flat out, sweaty and full of fun. From 2011 - 2015, Good Corn Liquor would play well over 600 shows all across Australia, recording and releasing 2 studio EPs.
In 2015, whilst on tour, the band was was involved in a head on collision which took the life of their lead singer, Stu McKenzie and seriously injuring other members of the band. From here on out the boys settled into recovery ensuring that they could, one day, return to the stage like old times.
After a 6 year hiatus, the band reformed with new members, new songs, and the same old ruckus!
THE MINTIES
From the beaches of Australia's Mid- North Coast to the share houses of Sydney's Inner-West; The Minties come together to bring you their special brew of Australian rock and roll.
A combination of different influences fight to create a unique style of New-Age Australian rock, with tracks governed by a deep love for blues and funk. Drummer, Jack Race, and bassist, Simon Bell, lay the groundwork for a driving sound with impressive percussive elements and an intuitive groove. Guitarist, Benjamin Atkinson, is in the business of blues, bringing electric lead melodies, fantastic syncopated rhythms and the off-the cuff feel The Minties have come to embody.
Frontman, Nicholas Christie, showcases a love of Post rock and Post-punk stylings, whilst managing to combine just enough cliches and hedonistic rambling to keep things interesting.
BOBIN MAINTENANCE CREW
Bobin Maintenance Crew is a fusion of rock, alt pop, bit of soul and even country vibes, derived from their shed at Bobin. Their music is influenced by each members unique taste of indie, punk, rock and electronic music reverberating around the tin shed. Their lyrics are heavily influenced by the 2019 bushfires that ravaged Australia and highlight our love of nature.
