International Women's Day 2023 luncheon with guest speaker Ellie Cole!
The 2023 global theme for international women’s day, Embrace Equity, continues last year’s theme of recognising and amplifying the important role women and girls around the world play in addressing change. This is in alignment with the Rotary International Theme this year, Equity, Inclusion and Diversity, created by the first ever female Rotary International President, Jennifer Jones.
Ellie Cole is a para-olympian and gold medallist winner, with a record breaking 17 Paralympic medals and OAM, to her name, will speak of her motivational journey. Ellie’s right leg was amputated at age 3yrs after suffering a life- threatening sarcoma cancer. Ellie has shown an inspiring ability to overcome the odds. She is incredibly passionate about the subject of equity, diversity and inclusion leveraging her strong platform as an athlete to highlight important causes. It is not only Ellie’s courageous story but her unrivalled sense of humour, wonderful humility and never-say-die attitude that makes her a true Australian inspiration.
We would love for you and your friends and family to join us at Club Old Bar and listen to Ellie’s extraordinary story. Along with Ellie we have other local and inspiring women who will also be talking about their rise to success, their obstacles and how they overcame challenges. It will be a lovely, real and heartfelt afternoon as we listen to the journey’s of these extraordinary women.
