Come along an learn the ancient craft of basketry!!
Basketry is an ancient craft that is relevant in contemporary life as it allows us to slow down & experience the satisfaction of creating something hand made. Making natural products using organic materials takes us back to basics.
This workshop is suitable for beginners, no previous basketry experience is required & all materials are provided. You will make & take home a beautiful raffia basket, using natural & naturally dyed Madagascan raffia, you will learn how to start, finish & shape your basket using a variety of techniques.
You will be supplied with approx 250g of raffia, a large eyed/blunt nose needle, printed handouts to refer to during and after the workshop, & details of where to purchase your own supplies for future baskets.
You will need to bring a plate to share and a bottle of water (a selection of herbal teas will be provided).
Cost: $111 - Places are limited to 6 people per workshop. Your space in this workshop is reserved only once full payment is received.
