Come and join Living Strong Nature journaling as we take you on a stroll through the bush to gain knowledge of local plant and animal species, local bush foods, learn to slow down, observe and listen to the land. Create a beautiful nature journaling art page for yourself (using different techniques including drawing, watercolour painting, collage, rubbings and nature stamps) which will help you remember all the experiences and new learnings you have gained during the workshop. Enjoy a taste of some local bushfoods found in the area.

Scott is an Arrernte man living in Port Stephens, with cultural ties back on home-country around Alice Springs as well as to the Worimi people and country on the Mid North Coast. Scott and his wife Liesl, a qualified ecologist, will be your guide.

Nature journaling is a mixture of scientific observation, creativity and immersion in the natural environment. Bringing nature and art together gives us an appreciation of the natural beauty in our world and will deepen our respect for the environment. Nature provides many opportunities for discovery, creativity and problem solving. Interacting with the natural environment allows us to learn by doing and experimenting with ideas.
