By Road

The journey by car to the Barrington Coast is less than 2.5hrs from Sydney's northern gateway to our southernmost tip in Tea Gardens. Add another hour and you'll find yourself in Forster-Tuncurry or Gloucester. Heading south from Brisbane it will take you 7hrs to reach Taree and from the west about 2.5hrs from Tamworth or Armidale.

By Coach

Busways provides daily services from Newcastle to the Barrington Coast towns of Hawks Nest, Tea Gardens, Pacific Palms, Forster and Taree. Greyhound Australia operate daily coach services from Brisbane and Sydney stopping in Bulahdelah and Taree.

By Air

Virgin Blue and Jetstar operate flights to Newcastle airport which is less than 45 minutes from the Barrington Coast. FlyPelican operate daily flights from Sydney to Taree.

MidCoast Council was formed by the NSW Government proclamation on 12 May 2016 through the merger of the former councils of Great Lakes, Greater Taree and Gloucester. This also included the merger of the existing tourism bodies of Great Lakes, Manning Valley and Gloucester... now known as Destination Barrington Coast.
