Here’s just a selection of the top activities the kids will adore for sure.
Keeping the kids entertained on holiday is easy when you’re visiting the Barrington Coast. There’s plenty of outdoor adventures to be had, plus we’ve got a bunch of cool indoor options too. Think ten pin bowling, aquatic centres, berry picking, an interactive fun park, surfing – you get the idea!
1. Tuncurry Water Playground
This brand new water playground opened in time for summer. It's an all-age, all-ability water splash pad with a water slide, water tower and active water play equipment to get your kids smiling.
The playground is open every day all year round (excluding Christmas Day) and it's free to use, so come make a splash!
2. Big Air Indoor Bike Park, Tuncurry
Need an all-weather option for high-energy fun? Big Air Indoor Bike Park in Tuncurry is a 2,000 m² undercover adventure zone where kids (and grown-ups) can ride BMX bikes, mountain bikes, scooters and skateboards, rain or shine. Designed for riders aged 3 and up, the park features three progressive zones to help build skills and confidence. With gear hire, coaching, and casual sessions available, it’s the perfect pick for school holidays, birthday parties or spontaneous family fun.
3. Forster Kid Spot
Now here’s a fun idea for the little kids! Take them to the indoor play centre at Forster and let them run wild inside while you relax with a coffee and a toasted sandwich in hand. The youngsters will have a ball in the climbing maze, on the jumping castle and navigating tunnels. The slides, flying fox and soft play equipment will ensure they snooze hard that night.
4. Inflatable World
As the name suggests, Inflatable World is a soft play centre that will appeal to kids of all ages and even the parents who still have a sense of fun. C’mon Mum let’s jump! It’s a top spot to host a party too. Cake anyone?
5. Club Taree Tenpin
Tenpin bowling is a great way to connect with family of all ages. It always garners plenty of laughs and pushes one’s competitive streak to the fore. But there can only be one winner. Best book two games to claim a solid triumph.
6. Cinemas at Tuncurry and Taree
Cinemas aren't just for rainy days, they're also a great option if you've had a little too much sun and need a non-beach day. The Great Lakes Cinema 3 at Tuncurry and Fays Twin Cinema at Taree both offer airconditioned comfort and comfy seating and of course a great candy bar. Hot tip: Always include a boysenberry choc top and yummy popcorn with your movie choice.
7. Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centre
There’s plenty of kid friendly facilities for the youth to discover at the Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centre. For the little ones, we recommend the kinder gym, playground and toddler pool suit best. Whilst teens will rate a spa & sauna session and the dedicated teenage fitness classes.
8. Hallidays Point Equestrian, Tallwoods Village
Horse riding at Hallidays Point, Black Head and Diamond Beach, based at Hallidays Point Caravan Park in Tallwoods Village. You'll love horse riding on thre beach!Horse riding lessons, pony games, brushing and riding. After school hours bookings also available.

9. Forster Entertainment Centre
How does a Jurassic World themed round of putt putt golf sound? Fun, right! Same goes for a spot of laser skirmish, a quick blitz in the gaming arcade and/or a friendly match of ten pin bowling. It’s impossible for anyone to be bored here.
10. The Hangout Forster
A full playcentre dedicated to kids having fun! Welcome to the home of casual play and party by day at The Hangout Forster. We have soft play equipment, jumping castles, trampoline, air track, enclosed ball pit with slides and qualified supervisor staff to keep your kids entertained. Plus we do kids' birthdays, book us now!
11. Learn to Surf
Surfing lessons for kids of all ages can be found at Saltwater Surf School at Old Bar and Gary Hughes Surf School at Pacific Palms. The qualified surf instructors will have your kids grinning from ear to ear as they learn to ride the waves in a safe environment. Hint: book in early during holiday season.


12. Learn to ride an e-foil
Gliding over the water like a sea eagle but on the world's best electric hydrofoil board! It's easy to learn and it's exciting, choose from e-foiling fun rides and couple sessions, learn to e-foil lessons, and e-foiling Glide Parties with a group (up to 4 people).

13. Manning Aquatic and Leisure Centre
Be sure to visit this community recreation centre if your kids love a good swim session. The playground is a good spot for them to burn off energy once they’re done with the pool too. Plus there’s an onsite creche for parents looking to catch a break for themselves and hit the gym or go for a swim.
14. Brackenridge Berries
Berry picking is an excellent family friendly activity for all to enjoy. Smell the fresh country air and pick the plumpest blueberries for a healthy taste sensation. Kids love the satisfaction of filling their basket. Tip: the host makes tasty cupcakes and milkshakes on site. Bon appetite.
15. Pick your own sunflowers at Mountain View Farm
Only available when the flowers are in full bloom: sunflower picking, barbecue stall, icecream by Rosco's Choc Tops, garden strolls, walking track with epic views and picnic spaces.
