Damn it ! I missed the Saturday 1st of March race meeting and arrived 2 days later for a break at a property on Tulloch Rd that literally backs up to the race track. I was truly honoured to drop in at the Legendary Terry Evans stables on Thursday morning & had a tour of the stable , meet & greet plus saying g’day to the majestic horses . There is such a pure country vibe at this track with the iconic Aussie backdrop of the bush , sounds of black cockatoos , ducks in abundance & it’s only 3km from town and the river & beaches on either side. It’s evident there is a strong local community behind this great track & never forget how close the area came to disaster during the bushfires of 2020 . Watching trackwork in the mornings I noticed the horses don’t gallop on the course proper . Maybe it was too wet . Next meeting is in mid May . Be there !! Also worth noting the really cool street names throughout the estate , racing legends indeed

This racecourse has a really nice atmosphere. There are more people than I expected, I’m not sure if companies has booked tables for there Christmas party. There is no grand stand or public seating area so highly recommend bringing a chair or picnic blanket. There are some tables at the food area, but is far from the parade ring and finishing line. Ok so I’m all about food there is a Kiosk that I think is managed by the Jockey club and run by volunteers and they seem to specialise in Pulled Pork Roll with Gravy. Forster Tuncurry Marine Rescue has mobile Kiosk serving, Sausage in a Bun and Steak Sandwich with onions. I’m into doing my bit to support a charity drive so I had the Steak Sandwich which is $7.00. The staff operating the mobile food truck was friendly. The Steak and Onions are freshly cooked and was surprisingly tender, there was no fat and seriously under seasoned. The white bread was buttered but typical white bread, soft and I always find it sticks to the roof of my mouth. nice day out if you are in the area.

First time here and a great club fully supported by volunteers and the local community. Great view of the track and excellent facilities. Apparently the Seafood Raceday is a massive day.

We booked the Pavilion for the Country Championships and what a great day. The rain did no spoil the event for us. The Volunteers and staff could not do more to make your day. To the Jockeys and ground staff...well done on completing the full race card
