Perched right on top of the water at Manning Point.

The Waterbird Restaurant is housed in a refurbished boatshed at Manning Point and has the best views of the Manning River, as it's perched right on top of it.

Enjoy the scenery and try such modern favourites as tempura prawns or beer battered flathead.

Great relaxed atmosphere, stunning location! The pizzas were delicious. We went back again for pizza and then again for morning tea and had the scones, jam and cream. Good coffee too. Thanks Jim and Tracey!

Food is OK. Service is very slow. Owner is the cook and only one waitress. Cannot expect more from such a small town though.

2021 This place is right on (above) the water with fabulous views across and down the river. It's always nice sitting on the covered deck with a gentle breeze off the water. Having said that the food is quite average. Lots of frozen seafood with salad and very ordinary chips. But, the service is very friendly and very welcoming. ------- 2019 Nice place on the water for lunch. Its only recently reopened. We had coffees and cake. Very pleasant.

We are regular customers of the Waterbird in Manning Point. The food is good, the service is quirky and fun, and the ambiance is without parallel. There's not many places you can get an excellent breakfast while peering over the railing to watch fish, pelicans and frequently dolphins. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for the meal, but I never feel like rushing when I'm there anyway. Always a good experience.
