Resort-style accommodation on the shoreline of Smiths Lake with two private sandy beaches.

In the serene shore of Smiths Lake, Sandpiper's lakeside units offer comfortable accommodation quietly nestled amongst the Australian bush.

At your door is the opportunity for sailing, swimming, water skiing, fishing, kayaking/ canoeing, tennis and a stroll in wild coastal bushland, and just minutes away from surfing paradise at the beautiful Blueys Beach, Boomerang Beach and Elizabeth Beach.

Sandpiper offers lakeside villa style units on the shore line of beautiful Smiths Lake. These 2 bedroom units sleep 4 to 6 people, have private patios, outdoor cooking facilities, generously appointed modern kitchens and open planned eating and a living areas with all the creature comforts of home. Also available are lake side two story 3 bed room townhouses that sleep 6 to 8 people comfortably.

Children play and get to know each other at Sandpiper, as there is an extensive grassy area by the safe and shallow lake shore. A boat ramp offers easy access to the water and the lake is especially popular among sailboarders, canoeist and paddle boarders alike. A tennis court is available free of charge. There are barbecues and tables nestled amongst the trees, right by the lake shore.

Guests are asked to bring their own sheets, towels, toiletries and food, however, the on site managers, Don and Emmy, are on hand to make your stay as comfortable as possible. As resident managers, they have extensive local knowledge and are happy to lend a hand with friendly advice. In contrast to absentee landlords, they're always on hand to make your stay that much more, enjoyable and fun.

Laundry facilities are available within the complex. There are shops a few minutes from Sandpiper, restaurants within a short drive, and all the amenities and attractions of Forster/Tuncurry less than half an hour away.

At Sandpiper you'll find affordable accommodation a stones throw from a pristine lake with views from your unit across water and dunes to the ocean. The sound of surf in the distance to lull you to sleep. Sunrise through the paperbark trees, with pelicans gliding by. Days full of outdoor adventure that you won't forget.

Love it. Just be aware of bringing your own line. Great service from the old couple who manages it. You are next to the lake, you can have a shower in the lake, great bbq area, tennis court, outdoor balcony. The area is beautiful and location is great, near a few shops but great for disconnecting Vodafone doesn't have coverage in the area but you have wifi in the room.

Never had a bad experience on Airbnb, this was my first one. The owner/host (Don) needs to improve his social and communication skills. Very rude and unpleasant. There are better options in the area.

Love the atmosphere. We went with other families and we made great use of the open grass area. Definitely coming back!

If I could give this less than a 1 I would. We booked through booking.com received confirmation and arrived late on the evening of our booking and we’re greeted by a rude man who owned the accommodations. He told us “he’s not a motel, we can’t book on the internet and he had no where for us to stay.” When I advised him he controls the online booking he told me “it’s wrong and he can’t change it and it’s our fault we booked online.” Just shocked
