Great place, loved hearing the Gloucester River gurgling in the background We had been waiting to have a campfire so the mild nights made it perfect Breakfast on the verandah in the sun was lovely, listening to the wrens Cows visited as did a friendly possum The cottage is very basic but has everything you could need Could sleep 7 but probably a bit crowded Perfect for 2 Combustion fire very efficient and main bed very comfortable (didnt try others) Paul is a very helpful and friendly host Would thoroughly reccomend a stay here for the peace and quiet and also ease of access to the Tops

Loved it. This place is the definition of running away from reality, you'll definitely be at peace from the busy city life. The cottage is very cosy and has electricity, water, kitchen, bathroom, furniture and basic utensils. There is also plenty of beds in this lodging (5), which is not at all cramped. The master bedroom has an included fire place. Outdoor open fire place is also available which you can cook on. There is a stream adjacent from the lodging that you can swim and fish. There are some game boards here and surprisingly there is also a book with written accounts from the past guests who have written their experiences, which was quite heart warming. Edit: it advisable to get an off-road car. Also, note - there is no reception here but there is a nearby mountain you can bush walk, hike, adventure - which we managed to get some phone reception.

If you want to experience the true Australian culture from years gone by then Roseleigh cottage is the essence of that. It is rustic, don't expect luxury but if you want peace, quietness a chance to step back to the days when life was simple then here you have it. The land of Banjo Patterson, Henry Lawson...an appreciation of true spirit. I LOVED Roseleigh Cottage and it will be part of my memories of a beautiful world of Australia.
