The highest campground in NSW right here on the Barrington Coast!!

Set amongst subalpine woodland, Polblue is a spacious campground centred around a grassy picnic area, and set away from the main road so it’s perfect for camping with children. The campground has sites suitable for caravans & camper trailers and offers easy access to some of the best attractions in Barrington Tops National Park, including the easy Polblue Swamp walking track.

Polblue is also the perfect location to see snow, with regular flurries occurring in the winter months. A solid dump in the 2018 left 10cm of snow at the campground!

At 1500m above sea level the camp is often cold throughout the year so be sure to bring warm, weather proof clothes.

Some areas of the parklands may have limited public access, check the NPWS alerts page for the latest info before you travel.

Beautiful area. Lovely, short (2.7km) easy walk around Polblue swamp. Lots of seating areas along the walk for you to sit and admire the scenery. Polblue creek was very picturesque and produced such lovely photos. Unfortunately, the brumbies were in the area and you had to dodge their poop. The nearby picnic grounds were great with (drop) toilet facilities.

Due to COVID-19 all campers must pre-book sites via NPWS. Ranger will check daily that your vehicle is registered to camp. Daily visits by the friendly ranger also means the toilets and bbq are clean. Ample camp sites scattered around, so no feeling of crowding. A good base for 4WDing nearby trails. Unfortunately most were closed when we visited due to recent rain. Leisurely walk around the Polblue Swamp (peat bog) with evidence of recent visits by feral horse, pigs and dogs. We only encountered birdlife and couple of brush-tailed possums. Lots of insects, so come prepared. No drinking water and limited firewood. Not a lot for kids to do, but if you like peace and quiet and no mobile service, it's perfect!

Camped here when it snowed, what a beautiful place! The snow added to the experience! Such a cool place! There's a nice relaxing walk around the lake which has picnic beaches located around the lake. The camping area has plenty of camp sites with designated fire spots. Theres a community hut with fireplace inside.

I give this place 5 stars, so easy to drive to and I only have a 2wd car, easy access all the way up, good setup, plenty of room, even for a day drive, go and have a look
