One of the best coastal lookouts you can drive up to.

Dooragan National Park near Laurieton features excellent trails and walks, picnic spots with breathtaking views from the summit of North Brother Mountain.

Relax and watch hang gliders soaring in the breeze over the glittering Pacific Ocean as you enjoy the scenery from Dooragan Summit picnic area on North Brother Mountain. The sweeping views of coastal lakes, the sea and bushland will take your breath away.

It’s a 6km drive up the mountain from Laurieton on a sealed road and the picnic area has toilets, a sheltered area, and a car park.

After lunch, you might like to spend 30 mins hiking Rainforest Loop walking track for views to the south of Diamond Head and the Barrington Coast. The northern end of this loop track is wheelchair-accessible.

Fun facts: The local Aboriginal Biripi people tell a dreamtime story of three brothers who were killed by a witch called Widjirriejuggi and were buried where the mountains stand. The youngest of the three was Dooragan, which is the name for this national parks. Middle Brother and South Brother are behind you, to the south-west.

North Brother Lookout is an absolute gem for nature lovers and trail runners!! I recently did a trail run up to the summit, and the views were breathtaking, definitely worth the challenge :-)

Great lookout. Parking, toilets, picnic tables all free and available for public use Option to hike up and down the mountain as well. Only 40 minutes from port macquaire and beautiful at sunset.

A great vistas of Laurieton,Camden haven, Bonny hills and Port macquarie. A 90km view the platform allows for great photos.

Amazing views and location. I can't wait to go back and do the hike from bottom to top instead of driving. The only downside was that people did bring their dogs to the summit despite it being a national park and a known koala spot.
