Renowned for the best scones on the coast but they're not the only delicious items to try here.

Moorland Cottage Cafe has a wonderful garden setting with a beautiful indoor option too. This is a great place to stop for a break off the highway and is safe for the kids. Working farms are our neighbours, so the kids can marvel at the sheep, horses, alpacas and cows.

Our setting is also great for groups, parties, occasions and coaches and we are now offering High Teas via bookings.

We are renowned for the "Best Scones on the Coast" as our history is that of a bakehouse and later a Devonshire tea house, but we now have a modern, well priced menu, with real espresso coffee. Gluten free offerings are available. We offer all menu items as takeaway too.

Located only 15 minutes north of Taree and conveniently located just 300 metres off the Pacific Highway away from the hustle and bustle. Relax in the quiet shady gardens for a light lunch, espresso coffee, homemade pies, Devonshire teas and the famous homemade scones. Small gift items and homemade jams, pickles and relishes are available.

Nice little spot for a bit of lunch and hot drink. The garden has seating where the local chooks roam around. The pastry free pies were delish and the ladies were always giving a great service with a smile. Highly recommended.

Great scones, the coffee is awesome. Lots of seating inside and out. Location is good for a quick stop on your way. Chickens and birds out the back are very sweet. :)

Definitely the best scones on the coast, if not the country. It's such a lovely place for a stop. It can get quite busy with limited tables. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The new owners are very knowledgeable of the area and are happy to have a chat. Beautiful gardens to sit in. Outdoor and indoor seating. Recommend to all heading up or down the coast to stop in for a lovely bit. We will be back next time we are travelling through that way.

The beautiful fireplace was going on a cold winter's morning. Quick service and friendly staff. Love the setting to relax and catch up with friends. But I love the gorgeous Rooster and pretty chickens.

We visited here on the way back home to Sydney on Thursday 2nd January for a morning tea stop. We waited 30 mins for 2 scones (date and plain), 2 coffees and a juice. The coffees were a great drinking temperature and tasted delicious but the scones were a bit of a let down - both had been warmed but the plain one was still cold in the middle. We were expecting a lot more for a place that was meant to have the best scones on the coast
