Multi award winner in The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition 2024!

Now in its 35th year, this national competition has judge tastings over four days to savour every entrant.

In our region, Forster Bakehouse scooped 5 golds and 3 silvers and were category winners in two:

Slow cooked barbecue pie (for their Carolina barbecue brisket pie)
Vegetarian/vegan pie (for their cauliflower cashew mornay pie)

So be sure to try one (or all) of these gold and silver winning entrants: Carolina barbecue brisket, Moroccan sweet curry, chicken parmigiana, Vietnamese pepper steak, lamb & rosemary, Indonesian fish curry, cauliflower cashew mornay, and mushroom.

Exceptional service. The two people on shift 17/03/2024 at lunchtime were friendly, engaging, and welcoming. Food - we bought a lamb pie and a meat, tomato and cheese pie. Both pies were really tasty and held well together in the pastry. Best pastry had in a pie in a long while - solid, well baked, and not too flaky. Atmosphere - clean, well layed out bakery, with a coffee machine. Unfortunately, we'd just missed trying the coffee as the machine was being cleaned, but a sign referenced they used Grinders coffee. Will definitely be back.

The girl who served me was so friendly. I had the curry pie and after a night sleeping in my car it was heaven. I almost got 2 as the potato one look yummy too.

Excellent food and very friendly staff. Will definitely be going back regularly. The potato pie and cherry pie are both delicious and the prices are great too.

Came here on Saturday 7th October. Had a sausage roll so very nice. The lady that served me was so helpful and gave me some pointers to make my afternoon in Forster all the more enjoyable.

Ordered the chunky steak and pepper pie, great crust, good amount of pepper in the gravy with good chunks, so good I ordered 6 cold to take home and cook at home when I wanted. 5 stars
